El Dorado ‘Special Reserve’ 15 Year Old Rum
A pot-distilled demerara rum aged in bourbon barrels for a minimum of 15 years. This rum is so good that it has been voted ‘Best Rum in the World’ seven times. So what is it that makes this rum so special? El Dorado 15 Year Old is a blend of specially selected rums from the world famous Guyanese stills at the Demerara Distillers: the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still and the Versailles single wooden pot still. All these stills produce distillates with completely different flavour profiles which are then blended and aged in oak for a minimum of 15 years, but some could be as old as 25 years. It’s often compared and contrasted with El Dorado 12 Year Old – but the main difference between ED12 and ED15 is that the 15 year old includes distillate from the Versailles still. It was also the first rum that El Dorado produced specifically to sit alongside luxury scotch and cognac in a way that rum hadn’t done before. Why don’t you try it and experience what the best rum in the world tastes like! It is a fantastic sipping rum best enjoyed neat.
