Glenglassaugh – Peated Port Wood Finish
Only 1 left in stock
Glenglassaugh’s waves of fruit and smoke are amplified in this Peated Port Wood Finish. Whilst finishing in ruby Port pipes, the open structure of the oak brings waves of velvet tannins and peppered dark fruit, reminiscent of Winter berries by an open fire, kissed by the sea. Released as part of their Wood Finishes series (launched in 2017 – and the first cask-finished whiskies released by the distillery!), it’s a well-balanced dram with plenty of character behind it.
- Tasting Notes
Nose: Brown sugar, damson and a hearty waft of peaty embers.
Palate: Creamy and sweet, with a prickle of cinnamon leading towards more smoke. Poached pears and blackberry compote.
Finish: Sweetness wins out in the end, with jammy cherry and a hint of Sherried citrus peel.
