Finlaggan Cask Strength
Only 2 left in stock
An amazing buy and excellent release from the independent bottlers at the Vintage Malt Whisky Co. Finlaggan of course is not an Islay distillery, it is a mystery malt, as the name of the distillery from which it comes is kept a closely guarded secret. It is named after the old Finlaggan Castle from which the Lords of the Isles ruled the surrounding area. Despite the bottle image the castle today is nothing but a ruin. The whisky however is a living adventure and many an evening has been filled with heated discussion over which distillery Finlaggan represents. Join us on the quest to find the answer!
- Tasting Notes
Nose: Concentrated peat smoke, strong maritime influence and a malty sweetness.
Palate: Not heavy on the palate at all, lovely cask strength burn, salty sea influence, sweet and sour with pervading smoke.
Finish: Long and lovely – that salty, smoky, sweet and sour combination just keeps on going.
