Compass Box Great King St. – Glasgow Blend
Only 2 left in stock
With Great King Street Compass Box has set out to create a Blended Scotch Whisky in the fuller-flavoured style of the late 19th century. In his book “Whisky”, written in 1930 by Aeneas MacDonald, we learn that Glaswegians historically preferred a full-bodied and flavour-packed whisky – Great King St. is such a whisky – hence the name, “Glasgow Blend”. It is a must have bottle for any whisky lover.
It is a marriage of 33% Lowland grain whisky and 67% single malt whiskies from Islay, Highlands and Speyside. It’s aged in a combination of first-fill sherry butts, oak barrels fitted with new charred French oak heads and the rest in first-fill American (ex-bourbon) barrels. All bottled with natural colour and without chill-filtering.
